Where Do You Come From?

This is my reaction to the suprression of conversation in a group chat.
Some white women have created a Facebook group page to learn together,
but people have been told not to discuss certain things as if they are
Supreme Court judges on whose shoulder the definition of truths reside
and that they need to inhibit themselves from making a decision.
Dear mortals, get over yourselves. You all have lenses and contexts, use them.

Where do you come from? What brought you here?
What tribe are you from? What do you want?
You say your mother is the most beautiful woman.
This is truth worthy of trust and land.

If you say you want of nothing, you’re a thief.
If you say you are here to help, you’re a liar.
If you say you’ve got the answers, you’re Empire.
If you say you’re a fugitive, come, take shelter.

You are welcome if you are afraid, hungry, or cold.
You are welcome if you are strong, proud, or strange.
Just show all your wounds, don’t hold back your tears.
Make family , plant your roots. Let’s know each other.

What happened to you? What are you running from?
No one travels miles without escaping.
No one argues without nothing at stake.
No one attends ceremonies without prayers.
